Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions PWA

This project involved designing and developing a Progressive Web App (PWA) focused on communicating antimicrobial resistance (AMR) solutions. The platform aimed to transform complex public health information into an accessible, interactive, and mobile-friendly experience.

Antimicrobial resistance is a global health threat requiring effective communication strategies, yet much of the available information is fragmented, overly technical, or difficult to engage with. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention emphasizes that improving awareness and communication is a key part of combating AMR.

Traditional web formats often fail to:

  • engage non-expert audiences
  • present complex systems clearly
  • function effectively in low-connectivity environments

Translate complex scientific information into clear, digestible content

Create a mobile-first, app-like experience

Ensure offline accessibility and performance through PWA capabilities

The design approach focused on information simplification and structured storytelling, using visual hierarchy and modular content blocks to guide users through complex topics.

Rather than relying on dense text, the experience prioritizes:

  • segmented content
  • visual cues
  • progressive disclosure of information

The interface is designed to reduce cognitive load while maintaining informational depth.

  • App-like navigation patterns
  • Section-based content flow
  • Emphasis on clarity over visual noise

Progressive Web App architecture

Offline caching strategies

Dynamically generated drug interaction charts

Searchable drug information

Interactive trees to funnel users towards drug information

Multi-role login capabilities

The final product bridges the gap between public health data and user-friendly digital experiences, demonstrating how design can improve accessibility to critical information.
